Latent Blooms

There is something synchronistic about the way of nature and the energy in my studio this time of year. My morning walking path is still laden with ice and snow in some areas, sopping wet and mucky in others, and though winter has her icy grip on us, I see evidence of spring everywhere I look.

The pussy willows are sprouting their tiny fuzzy buds, I can hear the Juncos chatting away in a nearby grove of trees as I sip my coffee, and each day I wake to sunlight pouring into my room earlier and earlier. The energy feels latent, ripe with possibility and none of the color quite yet…

And so it is here in my creative space. April has become of a season of preparation and anticipation as another festival season is upon me once again. The bustle hasn’t begun yet, I am still a bit in energy saving mode as it’s not quite time to start hustling too hard before an abundant season begins again.

However, in the past few weeks I have received some very exciting news… My application to the 2025 Edina Art Fair was accepted! This will be my very first year at this renowned Minnesota event and I am beyond honored and excited to be able to attend this June. It’s been on my bucket list but I was too intimidated to apply in the past! I was also accepted to return this year to the Grand Marais Arts Festival, Blueberry Arts Festival, and Harvest Moon Festival. I am still waiting on news from two other Duluth events that I will receive hopefully by the end of the month… When I have my entire market season event lineup, I will post it to my website and be sure to detail it in an upcoming newsletter!

The other life happenings are more technical than artistic or involve less time painting and more time in my homeopathic practice with clients.

I am however, working on some new prints that I plan to release in the coming weeks but am working through some last little details. I also have some new creative ideas brewing that I feel very excited about but are not quite ready to be revealed…

It’s a beautiful thing to be in the liminal space between winter and warmer days, to sit with the possibility of events to come. I hope you enjoy the latent blooms as they are and know that color is on its way…

Spring Exhibit

New Scenic Café

It’s hard to believe that my artwork has adorned the walls of the New Scenic Café for nearly a month, how time flies! I just got wind that original work has been purchased already which is so exciting. My art will be on display there through Mother’s Day so if you haven’t popped in for lunch or for a lovely dinner yet, be sure to plan a date night or a gathering with friends in the next month! Thank you so much to those of you who have stopped by already to see it! The texts and emails I’ve received always bring me so much joy!
